I am sorry about your friend's death. It is good of you to try to
salvage his notes and stories...
You might just ask in this newsgroup...if anyone would copy
the disks for you and send you a CD of the information. I
bet you could find someone to do it...easier than you can
fix your friend's setup to transfer the files.
