That's why I rushed out and got a new Mac in January, I'm not anti-X,
but its support for classic apps is a bit dodgy, my eMac boots just fine
in 9, though the lack of floppy drive is a bit of a drawback when it
comes to ProDOS. AFAIK you can still get an OS9-bootable Mac, but don't
quote me...
Even if OSX could write ProDOS floppies, your still going to be stuck
with a 1.44 MB drive which isn't exactly a2-compatible (for most of us).
I still think the best thing that could happen to the A2 world would be
a USB --> Disk ][ controller, but I doubt it's worth anyone's time to
develop such a beast...
The bottom line is that there's no reason to expect Apple to put any
resources into it, it's now up to the hobbyists to start innovating...
