Glenn, I always leave the CD case with enclosed disk in the drive, but not
inserted all the way, when not in use. I have an Apple Cd-150 and the CD
just sticks out about 1/4 " from the front of the drive when not in use.
That way, GSOS doesn't look to the drive and boots much faster. Have been
doing this for several years with no side effects. Try it...
