The clock() function for all Commodore machines is identical (because it's a standard function of the ROM for all Commodore machines) and is therefore located in libsrc/cbm.CLK_TCK is pretty easy and could be added to the cc65 time.h file. Defining clock() for the Apple ][ it seems is the key.Yes. But what I've read in this thread this is going to be difficult. If anyone is going to build an ethernet card like TFE, it would probably be a good idea to include a counter/timer chip on it, so there's a source for periodic interrupts:-)
I think a lot of machines are going to be used in serial mode (SLIP and soon hopefully PPP), in fact it will be the only way to do it for //c machines, without special hardware. There seems to be an interrupt related to video system, perhaps this can be tapped for a more general solution that would apply to all ][e //c and possibly ][+ with 80 column cards. Perhaps the SSC can generate the interrupts required, after all it must have some method of timing the serial connection. Then the ethernet card can handle the interrupts for a network connection, if it can. BTW there are also PAL Apples, so CLK_TCK may need to be retained.
