The only reason for this function is that CLK_TCK is not constant on the Atari
- it depends on the video standard of the machine. NTSC machines have a
CLK_TCK of 60, while PAL machines have 50 ticks per second. So CLK_TCK
resolves to a function which is named _clocks_per_sec and which returns the
value for CLK_TCK. On most other machines, CLK_TCK is just a constant.

The clock() function for all Commodore machines is identical (because it's a
standard function of the ROM for all Commodore machines) and is therefore
located in libsrc/cbm.

Yes. But what I've read in this thread this is going to be difficult. If
anyone is going to build an ethernet card like TFE, it would probably be a
good idea to include a counter/timer chip on it, so there's a source for
periodic interrupts:-)
