I think you could take it to the bank that the II's weren't being used for
anything critical. I've worked on some plant controllers for critical
applications such as refinery operations, and they tend to be double- and
quadruple-redundant with real-time cross-checking and continuous background
diagnostics. Million-dollar machines, in other words.
