Strange looking // Europlus

Hi all,

I received a // Europlus for my birthday from a friend. It seems to be 
in good shape, save for the 'S' on the keyboard that doesn't work. 
However, the keyboard looks rather odd: it sits about half an inch 
higher than its usual position. I haven't taken the machine apart (yet), 
but maybe someone could enlighten me on the version of this machine and 
the reason for the elevated keyboard. It suggests some kind of 
adaptation, but I really cannot say.
