Because I'm a nice guy ;-)

DiskDup+ is the key. I wondered myself why I hadn't tried disk copy... so
I tried it -- without success.

A few things I noticed, which may be pertinent: Disk Copy 4.2 won't show
B2TR's 4.2 disk images in the OPEN IMAGE dialog, but it does start up when
the icon's are double clicked. DiskDup+ doesn't seem to be at all picky.
Also DC4.2 writes the disks about 10 times faster, which I presume means
that DiskDup+ is working on a lower level (possibly sub-atomic?) - I think
it does its own formatting if necessary.

I'm not sure where I downloaded DiskDup+ from, but its latest (c) date is
1999 so it should still be floating about. It's $25 shareware, but has
enough functionality in demo mode to do what needs doing...

BTW the GS in question is a ROM1 with just the standard Apple drives on
the built-in port... no fancy stuff.

Anyway, I'll try a few more experiments and post any interesting results.
It would be interesting to find out if this works on newer Macs -- but I'll
leave that to someone who has one ;-)
