Re: RAMFast Revision C

Howdy all!

A friend of mine recently shipped me a "dead" RAMFast Revision C
(it's not dead, but that's another story). I managed to get it
running flawlessly in place of my Revision D RAMFast, with the
exception of one thing.

It won't read CDs! The CD-ROM drive shows up in the RAMFast
setup program, but any CD thrown in the drive won't show up, even
after letting it sit awhile. I've dove in the FAQ and google's copy
of CSA2, and I couldn't find anything about this.

For the record, I did check the usual SCSI suspects (termination,
cables, AC power cord). I also checked everything again by
reinserting my Rev. D card, and the CDs show up quite happily. I also
swapped the "RAMFast.Driver" for my Rev. D with the one on the ROM
Disk of the Rev C. I also tried the Rev C with the Rev D's driver,
just in case, with no luck.

So here I go again with, "Am I doing something wrong, or is there
a problem with the RAMFast?"

Take Care!

System Info:
IIgs ROM 03 w/4MB Q-RAM card
System 6.0.1

Slot 1:
Slot 2: LANceGS
Slot 3: ZipGSX 9Mhz/32k
Slot 4:
Slot 5: Apple 3.5 (Superdrive) Controller
Slot 6:
SLot 7: RAMFast Rev. C (One unlabeled EPROM, one labeled "U15 V2.00k")
        (256k REV C Serial Number 0079, hand written. )
          270MB Quantum HDD
          Apple CD300i

A CD300 worked with my Rev C Ramfast. I have the 3.00h ROM set which
may be the problem. If you have some way of burning a 27256 and a
2764 EPROM, I can send you the ROM images.

In Ramfast Utilities is that CD set to Active? Does it show up in the
GS/OS Volumes, can you map it to a slot and drive?
