might be a focus problem not a cleanliness problem. to clean the monitor
just use a lightly dampened tissue or cloth (mixed with a small amount of
Windex works well) then a dry tissue to remove the streaks. best to dampen
the cloth rather than the screen so it doesn't dribble down inside.
if cleaning doesn't work an internal adjustment of the focus pot will reveal
the problem. a small turn clockwise or counter clockwise should sharpen it
or make it worse. due to the high voltages inside only an experienced
technician should do it to avoid any lethal shocks.
another thing to try first is to adjust the screen brightness on the back to
see if that helps.
I don't know what this mesh is that you are refering to, or are you talking
about the matt finish on the glass surface ? if this is rubbed off or worn
down it is not repairable as far as I know.
