Absolutely, I used to clean tham all the time years ago. Take the back off
the monitor. Take the 2 connections to the CRT off. You will have to ground
the anode of the CRT to discharge it. Take the 4 screws off that hold the CRT
to the face plate of the monitor. The screen just sits sandwiched between the
CRT and the front frame. Clean the glass CRT with windex. The screen is best
clean with something like Fantastik, and a toothbrush, or some similar fine
brush. Scrub like, but thoroughly. Rinse the screen in the sink, and blot the
screen dry. Reassemble.

The mesh screen is inside of a plastic frame, to keep it stretched out in
shape. Apple also used to offer the mesh screen for the Lisa computer. I used
to have about 5 brand new screens as spares.
