Re: 6.0.0 Laserwriter driver needed/AsanteTalk bridge trouble
Thanks. The 6.0.0 Laserwriter driver works with the HP LJ 2100M, though
there may be some limitations. Bit-mapped graphics and simple WP files
printed fine, but too many fonts in a file produced a PS error again--of
course they might have failed on a real Laserwriter, too.

The 7300 is running 8.1. Various attempts at fiddling with the power-up
sequence produced more hangs, some very slow opening of the AppleShare
control panel (about a minute to draw each of the expanding boxes going out
from the icon to the full window) and, twice, the 7300 appeared for a moment
only to crash to a bouncing-apple text screen with the message
Could not load-unload resource
Type 8006
ID 0000000D
Error 1E06
The behavior seemed to be rather unpredictable. Meanwhile, the TX and RX
lights on the AsanteTalk were pulsing regularly (about every second), with
the 2gs trying to reach the Mac the only traffic on the network.

I tried hooking up the Mac by LocalTalk again and selecting the volumes to
mount on the gs at bootup. Then I switched back to the AsanteTalk and, as
Gary says, the volumes mount fine over the AsanteTalk. That is an adequate
workaround, whatever is causing the curious confusion between the gs
AppleShare control panel and the AsanteTalk.
Thanks for the help!
