Re: Installing vulcan IIGS harddrive - lubed OK!

Thank you for useful information on how to lube the fan on the Vulcan 20MB
HD

I followed your instructions by removing the P/S unit, unscrewed the housing
holding the fan.

Opening of the fan-housing was NOT an easy task. The 'clam-shell' was very
hard to open. I almost ended up breaking one the side fittings, before it
finally released.

After lubing the fan and installing it back in the Vulcan HD I then hooked
up the power-chord and made a test run. The fan seems to operate much more
silently now, instead of sounding more like a Russian airliner during
take-off. (!)

Another positive thing was that I found out that the Vulcan P/S had
switchable voltage 110V/220V (as with modern PC's).

In my region (Norway) we use 220V voltage. I am now able to run the unit
without using a seperate voltage-converter after setting the switch it to
220V.

Again, thank you and best regards
