The installer wouldn't have installed it to a floppy system disk, but it's on the disk SystemTools2.
Is it possible to move some files (like ProDOS and BASIC.SYSTEM) to another disk to give the system folder a bit more room? I have 2 5.25s and 2 3.5s (800k)... suggestions?
You can move BASIC.system. The first time you try to run a BASIC program the Finder will just ask you to locate BASIC.system, so you could keep it on another disk with the BASIC program.
Note that the file ProDOS in the root directory is actually just a boot loader. The real ProDOS system file is the file P8 in the System folder. P8 can be removed, but it can't be run from anywhere else. If you want to be able to run any ProDOS 8 programs (including BASIC.system) then P8 has to be in the System folder.
If you don't need to be able to boot the disk on a different ROM IIgs you can remove the patch file from the System.Setup folder. The ROM 01 IIgs uses the file TS2 and the ROM 3 uses the file TS3, just remove whichever one you don't need.
