My question is this:
Is that a typo (ie: is the second Bank1 list really 'Bank2'?), and
if it's true, what's the second bank of DIP switches for? Also, if
anyone knows, what's the purpose of the bank of eight 41256-15s on the
uppermost row, component side, for?
It's a typo The second bank is for setting any slots that have to be
accessed at 1mhz.
That RAM on the card is supposed to be faster RAM that's accessed at
3.5mhz and is used in place of your motherboard RAM and the first 64k
on on an Auxiliary slot RAM card. If the TransWarp is installed, you
can actually run a IIe or II+ with no RAM at all on the motherboard.
The IIe or II+ ROM is also copied to the TransWarp for faster access.
Finding this card is just about the best thing to happen to me
since a friend gave me my first IIgs, complete with ZipGSX. :)
I'd also like to request ANY information on the RAMFactor card by
AE. Mine's apparently populated halfway (512k from what I've found
online), but I'm curious as to the use of the cards, what
drivers/software are needed to fully utilize the card (RAMWorks for
Appleworks, right?) or any other information one may have.
I can email you a PDF of the RamFactor and TransWarp manual if you want.
The RamFactor is pretty much a clone of the Apple slinky card with
a couple of differences. The ability to use a battery backup and the
built-in Partition Manager.
