Hope they do not do this crazy thing. There are many older apps (yes ppl who
have been using macs for a long time have older software) that will not run in
the classic mode, and require a boot into OS 9.x.
<< You will be able to buy Macs that boot into OS9 in 2003 but I'm
expecting that they will be the ones shipped in 2002. My understanding
has been that Apple is planning on changing the ROM so that OS9 booting
isn't possible. I guess the currant Macs usefulness as an Apple II
peripheral will be almost gone at that point.
