I've heard of this sort of thing before. Though I've never tested it myself,
the manual-inject drives do have issues with ProDOS diskettes. I remember
reading about this in a TIL document at Apple. And, a friend of mine who
happens to have co-written DiskCopy 4.2 also mentioned something to that
effect. Again, I don't know if this is 100-percent concrete, but I've been
avoiding the issue altogether by sticking with my Mac Color Classic to work
with ProDOS diskettes (the CC has an auto-inject drive).
