Sure, they can "use the internet." Anything with a comm program can access
the net via an ISP that offers shell access. You can do email, download
files, etc. Can they do everything a new computer can do? No. But you can
still do quite a lot, which makes it a lot of fun for some of us. I can
understand if that's not your idea of fun, in which case you are in the
wrong newsgroup.
