IRC,

FTP,

Telnet, AOL,

why in the world would ANYONE want to use what is acknowledged to be the world's worst ISP?

etc...

Yes

I am told that 386 PC's running Windows 3.x are able to do more with the
PRESENT Internet

As opposed to what past Internet?

than a Apple II type. Well, considering that the Apple II is older than the Internet..., and for that matter, several generations older than a 386 PC Isn't it interesting that Apple IIs are still being used, while 386's aren't even being found in third hand stores?

I am told that newer web browsers, FTP
programs, news readers, IRC clients, and other such internet applications will
not run on 68K system 7.x type Mac.

No doubt about it. Because "newer" software is being written for Windows XP and Mac/OS X, and neither one run on 68K chips, or 386s for that matter....
