Original StyleWriter seemingly dead...

    I have a StyleWriter I (the original model) which was working just fine
for the past several weeks and now suddenly appears to be dead. I'm
wondering if anyone has seen this in particular...

    I switch it on, there is no sound or movement inside (the carriage
usually resets itself) and soon after the 'power' and 'error' LEDs start
blinking together. I think it's telling me the carriage is jammed, or at
least thinks it is. I've removed the sheet feeder and ink cartridge and
can't see anything wrong. Is there anything someone can suggest
before I give up on it?
