For some reverse expansion on that thought (;->), I used the adapter cable on a
PowerBook G4 Titanium to allow my Color Composite //c screen to act as a second
monitor.  

Surprisingly nice was the result.  It took a bit of practice to find the cursor
at first, because of the smaller pixel screen size, but I could read file names
and manipulate windows easily.  Running a word processor was doable--the
program even adapted to runing on the smaller screen, but the menubar stayed on
the G4.  

All in all, it was similar to watching a TV program on the //c screen.
