No, despite having a similar appearance to the IIgs's standard display,
these are incompatible. They operate at a higher frequency range that a
stock IIgs cannot synchronize to (around 35 kHz horizontal).

The only Apple manufactured (RGB) display that supports the IIgs is
called the 'AppleColor RGB Monitor' (A2M6014) and operates on TV/NTSC
frequency--approximately 15.75 kHz. An easy way to quickly spot one
among a pile of monitors is the power LED is a slash ("/") rather than a
straight line ("-").

There's a few non-Apple display that are also compatible with the right
cable or adapter. Some of these include RGB monitors made for the Amiga
(e.g.. A1084) and Atari ST, as well as the NEC MultiSync II and 3D.
