  It was a chip on the ][+ motherboard, pin compatible with a 74LS259 I
believe.

   The 8T97 was one of 3 address chips used in the ][ and ][+.  They are just
to the left of the CPU chip.

   I have also seen Apple use a 14.38383 or something like that.  The 14.31863
is a color timing crystal, or maybe I have the two mixed up.

  I seem to recall it was a ROM that went on one of the old plug in cards. 
Like the Communications card, or parallel card.
