I had one in a IIe once...it flew through everything. PublishIt! 4 was one
program I used frequently that benefited from the faster speed. I produced
the newsletter for the local Apple users' group with it. When I took a
PostScript file generated by PublishIt! to school to crank out on a laser
printer, you couldn't have guessed by looking at it that I was using a IIe.
AppleWorks 3.0 also got a nice speed bump for working on large databases.

Most accelerators drop the speed down to 1 MHz briefly while $C030 is
accessed, so that sounds will be more-or-less normal. After a short
interval, the accelerator resumes its normal speed. With the configuration
software that came with your RocketChip, you should be able to turn this
feature off if you want.
