I fondly recall attending and working A2 trade shows like AppleFest, Apple Expo West and NECC, where tens of thousands of attendees packed the aisles to see the latest products from Beagle and other A2 developers. Those days are gone; a gathering of 40-50 users in Kansas to play "remember when" simply does not compare.
Three or four of the attendees at KFest are from the Lincoln Nebraska local Apple II usergroup AppleLinc.
Last week we had our monthly meeting. These guys do not play "remember when".IF you haven't been there, then you have no basis to say that. No, there is not now, and no doubt, never again will be Apple II conventions with hundreds, let alone thousands of attendees.
Frankly, how many attendees at the major computer shows of today are just "normal" people, as opposed to buyers (as in employees of resellers), sellers (as in employees of producers or distributors) and journalists (as in employees of journals funded my M$ advertisements)? I doubt that there (m)any shows like the first computer Faires.
The few who still make hard/software for the Apple II will be there. And the few Apple II "nuts" who can get away will be there too. If I could justify it to my wife and creditors, I'd be there too.
