I lucked into a vortex86, a x86 compatible pentium based 800 Mhz cpu, 1 gig ram , XGA, network, USB, ps2, 1 parallel port, 32 bit GPIO, and 8 (yes 8) com ports all in a 3.5 inch form factor.

Thats my bridge to the retro bench, but even though its old, obsolete, and not made anymore, you can expect to spend a couple hundred since they were used in industrial control, which is like saying rare + vintage

but on the flip side, my 8 core 4 ghz bulldozer has com and printer ports as a pin header, so they are not gone yet
