You can't easily put a ROM 3 IIGS motherboard in a IIe case.  A ROM 00 or
ROM 01 motherboard will work, but you might need to add connectors for the IIe
power supply and keyboard (and keypad, too, if you have one of those); those
connectors usually (I think) were only installed on motherboards intended
for IIe-to-IIGS upgrade use.  Mine came with the power-supply and keyboard
connectors; after picking up an external keypad, I added the connector for
that.
