I have an old school parallel port EMP-11 programmer and it works great. The problem is the parallel port interface. I want to get rid of the old PC with a real PP, so I bought a PCI-E card with parallel port on it. Doesn't work with the device 'cause it is hard coded for standard LPT addresses. So I decided to try a cheap USB device and bought the G540. The only experiment was an attempt to burn an AM2764 chip. Failed miserably directly connected to a "powered" USB port. Software is also very buggy: when things go wrong it just hangs.

Bottom line is the old PC is saved from the landfill for a few more years.
