Re: TransWarp GS repair questions
Oh ok, that makes sense. I would be interested to know if this condition is replicated on the IIGS. Since it uses ADB and whatnot it would seem that it probably would just be easier to make the ADB controller set the relevant bit instead of actually pulling the PB3 line, but who knows...
In other news, the CPU, SRAMs, and sockets arrived today. I am going to install the new CPU and SRAMs soon, and when the programmer arrives I will burn the new GALs and ROM. If that doesn't get things sorted I will have to investigate further. I have already been contacted by someone to do a full CPU/Oscillator/Cache/ROM/GAL upgrade on a TransWarp and a cache/socket upgrade on a ZipGSX, so I guess people are interested. I'll pick up that supply asap, but for now I have my other supply for testing. I am also planning on picking up an oscilloscope and/or a logic analyzer soon, so that will broaden the possibilities for maintainance. I did find an inexpensive logic analyzer with a good speed and deep memory for not that much, so it should suit our purposes just fine.
