Re: TransWarpGS Error

Hi Ken,

I didn't yet try it with a 28MHz oscillator because I couldn't get one locally. I did however try it with a 32MHz oscillator and the results are different. The progress is described in the thread Transwarp GS repair question, but the short form is now I consistently get the error screen with error 0503 (Speed Control Error 3) and when booting with acceleration off via Option-Control-Reset I can run a card test and see that it fails 3 tests: 0503, 0601 (Interrupt Logic Error 1), and 0701 (Slot slowdown error 1). My card is equipped with a very early ROM revision, so someone is sending me an 8k card with a 1.5 ROM to test with. I am also ordering a ROM programmer to burn myself a new ROM and GALs, new cache chips, a new CPU, and a new high spec power supply for my IIGS. Hopefully this will fix the problem, if not I am going to have to start systematically replacing components on the board. I suspect that if all the upgrades don't fix it the FPGA could be toast, but its too early to tell. Thanks for the reply and suggestions Ken!
