The plug for the TWGS has longer pins than the 65816 so it often spreads the contacts in the socket so that the original CPU no longer makes good contact. It'll probably work if you press down firmly while powering up. Of course once you stop pressing down it'll stop working. Only solution is to put the TWGS back in or replace the socket. Machine pin sockts are the way to go. Apple used cheap sockets
