Right - it's an easy platform for me to play with (obviously). Plus I get to monkey around with ideas I've had for a while now about encapsulating commands in checksummed envelopes and larger packet payloads to reduce overhead.

No sweat. Like I said in Ken and Mike's podcast, I've only got two tricks - comms and disk subsystems. This is just another manifestation of them.
