Re: Crazy idea

Jace on a RPI would probably be a non-starter. Java exists for raspberry PI, but I doubt that tiny piece of silicon can handle all the threads that are kicked off. It might be almost usable with sound disabled, provided that the Java ARM build has swing support and some sort of basic 2D acceleration.

If you're seeing an alternating pattern of @ and checkerboard characters that means something borked on start. Make sure you open the program from the commandline (e.g. java -jar jace.jar" or similar.) That way if there are errors you can see them and forward them over to me, stapled to a carrier pigeon or other convenient communication of choice.

I ran into a lot of odd issues in Sun JDK but the Open JDK seems to work a lot better, particularly the sound API is better implemented for Linux in OpenJRE.

I was pretty sure I had resolved most of the death-on-boot issues but if you can verify the current build works I would be happy to hear results (good or bad.)
