Thanks for your encouraging words.  I've still got a ways to go, however  ;-)

Now that I've got the //e working, I'm trying to transfer some of my old disks to more reliable storage via ADTPro, but I'm running into difficulty.  I'm not sure what the problem is, but the evidence has a fascinating pattern to it.  If you're curious, see my two comments here:
