...... Or - it is a way for people to make use of software where:

1 - the rights holder is dead/non existent/out of business/indifferent
2 - there is no commercial outlet to obtain the software.

It is unlawful to cross the street without a crosswalk, too.....   It doesn't mean that I am a unrepentant criminal (although the strict interpretation of the law might disagree).

You gotta stop being so black & white about the issue....  otherwise it becomes like U.S. politics.
