if one goes to the internet archive, looks up computer chronicles, and
I believe the episode about microprocessors, there is a 101 segment
inside an apple II+ with an engineer with a clipboard checking things
off before boot, then gives the host (Stewart) a breif rundown of how
it all works. The II is fired up and then complains "error, 2 men
inside"

I wonder how I can surpass that, because 2 men inside my apple II
before power to make sure the darn thing is working right is getting
expensive as the supply of mini-people is dwindling post 1896 due to
the electrical shock and starvation of being left in the closet for
20+ years with no thought.
