Re: Anyone have success running Arachnid (IIGS Web Browser)
For what it's worth, I got PR3 running in GSPort (running inside
Parallels Desktop for Mac, as the Mac version of GSPort doesn't
emulate Uthernet).
It's cool in principle, but as disclaimed in the Readme, buggy. It
works on http://appleii.ivanx.com/ for a page or two, but clicking
links sometimes yield the error 10, and I'll get 404's when clicking
through to to pages that work fine if I freshly start it up and
provide the direct URL. (I think this might have something to do with
it not coping with the redirects in the .htaccess file on my web
server.) I'd say my #1 request for it would be to download binary
links, which it can only currently do via FTP.
Still, super cool to browse in GS/OS.
I also was able to buy and download both Spectrum and Orca/M from
Syndicomm, and compile Spectrum Internet Suite from source, and that
works a bit better (no offense to Kim, it's just a more finished
product). In fact, I downloaded Arachnid with it.
