Re: IIc + SmartPort behavior

Happy new year !!!

Well,

Thanks to Antoine V., Franois M., and Ed E., I ended up with three Unidisk 3.5 and an Apple IIc+. I confirm the facts outlined by Steven H. and Rob J.: If more than a total of 4 devices (3.5 floppy drives or virtual drives) are connected to the IIc+, the last device in the daisy chain is not usable by Prodos 8. I found also that in this case, the internal floppy drive is mapped two times, it look like Prodos 8 is mapping the internal floppy drive instead of the last device in the daisy chain when more than 4 devices are connected. I get the same results using physical floppy drive with and without the SmartportVHD. At the moment, I can't go further because I have a problem with the keyboard of the IIc+.

Cedric.

What type of adapter is this that you're working with?

I was using my sp cf adapter refer this link:

I have not really done much more work on this as I believe that
Cedric's solution of using the USB is a nicer way to go. Plus his is
available :-). The only benefit of my solution is that it does not
have the overhead of the usb init time, so mine will boot the iic+
without any issues.

This Thread, plus your spvhd success has got me back into looking at
mine. I've also recently purchased both a Unidisk 3.5 and an apple 3.5
drive. (From that collector with the Very expensive collection on
ebay) So I've been working on making mine work connected after the
Unidisk 3.5. I have this working fine now, just need to get the pass
through working next.
