I helped tempest with the fix. I'll post a link to the image and
upload it to asimov tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm out of town at the
moment.
I'm not sure why, but the original cracker decided to do something
funny with jmping through the stack that seems to fail on the GS, but
works on my IIe. My patch instead, just jumps to the appropriate start
address.
When I get back, I'll create a new post with the Burgertime fix and
some more notes. I'd love to understand what undocumented
functionality was being used. In addition, I also found an unreported
secret key that the cracker put in (I checked the published secret key
files) but doesn't trigger correctly on my IIe (maybe it works on a II
or II+?).
