Not even going to look at the auction. eBay seems to instill in some
people an urge to win that's so strong they'll pay more for something
than theyreally should. It's very common. I think I succumbed once
(only by a few bucks, happily). Just yesterday I saw something that I
was potentially interested in that had been driven up to a ridiculous
price. It was a collectible magazine issue with hours to go and a top
bid over $70. Thing is, there's a well-known dealer who'll sell you a
NM copy of that same issue for $25. He's very reputable and has NM
copies on hand. But at least two people thought it was worth a lot more
than that.
