Re: Hating The Green Screen

Hi, Brian...

What I currently have as my set-up is a Power Macintosh 5500, which has a
composite video-in jack. I connect my Apple II's into there, then view it
through the Macintosh. It appears on the Mac as a separate window. If you
have or can find a Mac that has a composite video-in jack, it'll work as an
alternative Apple II monitor. Not only that, you can take very clean screen
shots of Apple II screens. Other Macs I know of that have this built in are
the Macintosh AV models, Power Macintosh 8600/9600, and possibly MacTV if
you have an R/F modulator.

But to answer your question about swapping CRTs, I'm not sure... But at one
time, I actually saw a Macintosh SE/30 with a green screen. The owner of the
unit believed it's a prototype, and Apple was actually considering the idea
of a green screen instead of the black/white. But I'm curious about the
source of the CRT.
