Entourage address book problems

Hi,

I use my microsoft entourage address book to manage all my contacts.

If I have someone's details selected, and carelessly hit the delete key, the
whole contact file goes.....but the question is, does it go somewhere
recoverable? The 'edit' toolbar says: 'can't undo' and I can't find the
contact anywhere.

If the file is unrecoverable, is there a way to inhibit such immediate
deletion within the address book?
