As far as I know there is very little hardware difference between the
four different ROM versions for the IIc. I believe one of the
hardware differences is in the serial port as some versions had
problems going faster than 9600 bps reliably.

The only model of IIc that supports the Apple 3.5 Drive is the IIc+.
