ok so i'm an apple neophyte, it's showing. my version of "back in the day"
was throwing in sneakers and going at it. Anyhow, I realized ctrl-a enters
into
SSC control mode, entered '6B' and then carriage return.
I did not before realize i would get an SSC prompt from the faq i was
reading,
just expected a basic prompt back.
The text transfer seemed (seems) to go fine for a couple minutes, and then
various
faults occur. Stops = noted by lack of activity on break-out-box
A) transfer slows then stops
B) transfer stops and screen fills completely with random color block chars
C) OUT OF MEMORY error (stock IIe)
Every transfer attempt nets different character displays on the IIe. I would
think
these would be consistent from attempt to attempt.... after all teh file
isn't changing ?
There are a couple weak pattern matches but each attempt seems completely
unique.
Weird. My 232 cable is 30+ feet long but at 5 volts i wouldn't think that'd
matter
too much. Not sure what's happening now. Any input ?
Thx
J
