Well, if that helps, the pot is marked "102T". One end is not connected; the center pin is connected to +5V; the other end goes through a 1k resistor to pin 11 of a 74121 chip, and there is a small cap (I assume 1 nF) between that pin and pin 12 of the same chip.

Guess I'll check out what a 74121 does.
