ROM 00/01/03 - Why should I care?
OK, I admit, I've been out of the Apple loop for a while, but I've been
recently trying to breath some life back into my //gs (new batteries,
etc.). Seems most is working, even the old 20MB SCSI drive (although
one 3.5" floppy drive seems to be dead). I just got the new batteries in
today, so I get to start playing with my soldering gun soon, too.
Anyway, I've seen several messages regarding the ROM version. My "WOZ
Limited Edition" did end up going in for a momboard replacement at one
time, so I've been able to confirm that it currently has an 01 board.
What's the difference between 01 and 03? Should I care?
Second Q:
My main goal is to bring it back up to get some data off, but it would
be cool to run some of the old software again (I have a few apps I wrote
using APW in 6502 assembler). It would also be cool to get it hooked
into my network. I see some posts here about successes networking a
//gs to Win2K, but nothing about WHAT needs to be done. Any help there?
Any info, or even referrals to on-line resources, are appreciated.
