So on the Mac you just drop the selected files on the program you
want to open them. Works real good. .jpgs for me come down and are
assigned a creator code for a program called Jade. But I can open
them up in PictureViewer, GraphicConverter, Photoshop, AppleWorks (Mac
version of course) or any other program that supports jpegs. With the
right contextual menu add-on installed, I can even open jpegs in
several programs just by control-clicking on them and selecting the
correct program from a list.
You may find the Mac too 'helpful', but it also helps you open them up
in any program you want.
The drag & drop onto an app was something that I wish would have
been implemented in GS/OS.
