Sara version 0.4.0 has been released and is now available.
Sara is an Apple /// Emulator for the Macintosh. In fact, Sara is the
only Apple /// emulator available for the Macintosh, or any computer
platform.
Sara will allow your Macintosh to emulate the Apple ///, which was the
computer released by Apple just after the Apple ][, and before the
Lisa.
The name Sara was chosen because it was the code-name for the Apple ///
development project at Apple.
The emulation mostly works. The system utilities disk does boot, and
seems to function correctly. There's even emulation support for a
proFile hard drive! For some reason, Business Basic does not fully
function correctly. But most other programs seem to run fine, including
Three EZ Pieces.
In addition to downloading Sara, users will need to get an Apple ///
ROM image, as well as various disk image files. URLs for these are
available at the Sara web site.
Sara is freeware. A copy of Sara may be downloaded from the Sara web
site. The URL is http://www.blackcatsystems.com/software/sara.html
