No one's pointed it out, but if your hitting a 10 MHz bottleneck it could
just be your motherboard at fault. Original Apple IIgs boards (ROM 00/01)
were more electrically "noisy" and so it was common for accelerators to
top off at 9-10 MHz when plugged in them. Not in all cases, but often.
The ROM 3 motherboard is much more suited for pushing accelerators
to their highest possibly speed. Of course there's more to it than just what
motherboard you have, but it IS one very important factor among many.
