I would think that you will need special CMS hard disk utilities to
format the SCSI drive. I had a Mac version and a CMS HD. It would
only format using the CMS utilities. I don't know if that was the
way with the Apple II drives though. There were a couple threads
a couple weeks ago on the CMS cards and their usage. You might
want to check an archive site and search for it.

I had heard that the CMS card won't drive a CD-ROM but some
here claim to have a ZIP drive working on theirs. Check an archive
site and see if you can find the thread.
The other card that people like is the Apple High Speed SCSI card.
I have one of them but I have not tried it out yet.

The last revision of the RamFAST was Rev D with ROM 3.1. I
myself have a RamFAST Rev C with ROM 3.0h which seems to
work fine. The last RamFAST is a smaller card which I have
heard consumes less power and has 1 meg of cache instead
of 256K like my Rev C card.
